Winners of 2017 Parade of Homes Awards Announced

The HBA presents the People’s Choice and Industry Awards of Excellence

The Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs (HBA) announced Tuesday the winners of the People’s Choice Awards and the Industry Awards of Excellence for the 63rd annual Parade of Homes.

The recipients were recognized by the HBA at the Parade of Homes Awards Banquet held at The Antlers in downtown Colorado Springs. NASH FM’s Cutter was the emcee for the evening. The event was generously sponsored by Amnet, Moen, Perceptive Image Creations, Pikes Peak Regional Building Department and Stewart Title.

The 2017 Parade of Homes presented 24 homes by 19 builders in communities throughout the Pikes Peak Region, with prices ranging from $330,000 to $1,850,000. Industry professionals from around the state judged the homes on a number of features including landscape design, floor plan, architectural exterior and interior decorating. The coveted People’s Choice Award is voted on each year by Parade attendees.
The People’s Choice and Industry Awards are each broken out into multiple categories divided by price point. Industry Awards are further divided among the following categories: Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best Interior Design, Best Exterior, Best Outdoor Living, Best Architectural Exterior and Best Overall Home.

Banning Lewis Ranch and Sanctuary Pointe were the Featured Communities of the Parade.

Parade-goers were able to enter a grand prize drawing for a $2,500 shopping spree from La-Z-

Boy Furniture Galleries. This year’s winner was Graham Kitchenka of Colorado Springs, CO.

Penrose-St. Francis Health Systems presented a prize of an Apple Watch, which was offered to attendees who visited all of the Parade homes and registered their ticket. The winner of this prize was John Hartmann of Colorado Springs, CO.
