In the southeastern part of El Paso County, Fountain Valley has the personality of a small town, yet is only minutes away from the southern end of Colorado Springs. Consisting of the small communities of Widefield Fountain, and Security, the area was named after Fountain Creek. Located about 15 minutes south of downtown Colorado Springs, this area offers affordable housing with plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby. It is also conveniently close to the airport and nearby military bases. Covering approximately 50 square miles, it sits at an average elevation of 5,800 feet which makes for temperate weather most of the year. The fast-growing area is expanding to the east, bringing in new entertainment and shopping opportunities.
