This community is located east of the Colorado Springs metro area, and just north of Schriever Air Force Base. With wide-open spaces, and covering approximately 2.3 square miles in the northeast area of Colorado Springs, Peyton is named after George Peyton who settled the area in 1888. The northern border is Douglas County while the southern border is Falcon and the eastern border is Black Forest. It sits at an average elevation of 6,600 feet above sea level. The homes in this area have a large average lot size of more than 15 acres. The Homestead Ranch Regional Park is located in Peyton with facilities that include a playground and hiking trails.
